American fashion brand Guess will increase its sustainable denim offering to 75% within three years, replace virgin polyester with recycled materials, reduce corporate greenhouse gas emissions by 50% and chain emissions supply. We plan to reduce it by 30% by 2030. Approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative.

Guess announced its objectives in Vision Guess, the fourth sustainability report covering fiscal years 2020 and 2021, prepared in accordance with the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainable Accounting Standard Board (SASB). It shares the company’s progress on environmental, social and governance (ESG) subjects.

This report covers the three pillars of Guess’ sustainability plan: operating in good faith, empowering people and protecting the environment. The company details the main achievements since the announcement of its first sustainable development goal, increasing its range of eco-smart Guess denim products by 18%. Increase globally certified and sustainable materials across the brand. The company said in a press release that it has achieved gender equality both in its US headquarters and in its retail business in the United States.

The report also highlights the company’s new Guess sustainability assurance framework. It is a robust process that collects, reviews and tests sustainability data before sending it to an external guarantee provider to ensure consistency and comparability of nearly 100 ESG-related metrics.

“This year’s report, Vision Guess, focuses on our higher standards and expanded ESG strategies for the future. We reserve ESG reports, generally for financial reporting. We handle it rigorously and focus on developing the right systems, tests and controls to ensure proper comparability, consistency and accountability. ” Guess CEO Carlos Alberini..

The release of Vision Guess is a milestone for the company, demonstrating that it has successfully entered into a reasonable guarantee agreement with the big four KPMG accounting firms and investigated the metrics and disclosures in its sustainability report.
