Sonovia partners with Israeli fashion company Delta Galil

Sonovia and its machine manufacturing partner, Brückner Textile Machinery, will install an ultrasonic fabric finishing applicator at the Delta Galil Innovation Center in the city of Karmiel, northern Israel, to pilot the application of new Eco-responsible fabric finishes providing antimicrobial protection and other long-lasting benefits to major global brands that are customers of Delta Galil, according to the agreement.

Sonovia has developed a new ultrasound-based antimicrobial coating applied to fabrics and textiles. The technology mechanically infuses metal oxide nanoparticles onto textiles during an ultrasonically assisted impregnation process with the specialized chemical compound that turns textiles into blocks that are highly effective against bacteria and fungi, the company said.

Based in Ramat Gan, the patented technology Sonovia aims to commercialize was originally developed as an antibacterial nanoparticle finishing technology by Israeli scientists at Bar Ilan University.
