SCAD’s Fashion Marketing and Management program prepares students for cross-functional careers in a global market comprising the fashion, business, and marketing industries. SCAD Atlanta is seeking a full-time Associate President in this department. The person in this role will join a very creative and driven team that is developing the next generation of fashion buyers, product developers, retail and wholesale merchants and marketers.

  • Daily administration of the academic department
  • Lead, coordinate and evaluate the marketing and fashion management department
  • Develop a study program
  • Foster interdepartmental collaboration and continue to strengthen the notoriety of SCAD’s fashion marketing and management department in academic and professional circles
  • Oversee the department’s budget, including its development and implementation
  • Work with the admissions department to recruit talented undergraduate and graduate students to SCAD and the department
  • Teach classes annually, as assigned
  • Evaluate faculty in the department through classroom observations, a review of student evaluations, a review of service and professional development, and a review of contributions to department goals
  • Work with the Associate Dean to provide professional development opportunities for faculty
  • Develop, in consultation with the Associate Dean and members of the department, a strategic plan for the department that is consistent with the goals of the School of Fashion and the overall strategic plan of SCAD


  • MBA or terminal degree or its equivalent in fashion or related field
  • Experience in the marketing and management of international, luxury or non-traditional fashion
  • Professional recognition with extensive documented experience in the fashion industry
  • Excellent purchasing or merchandising skills, product development, trend forecasting, retail and wholesale, fashion marketing and management, visual merchandising and visual communications
  • Working knowledge in the areas of branding, innovation, e-commerce, digital marketing and social media desired
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Innovation, energy and personal and professional integrity
  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Ability to motivate students and faculty to think creatively and critically
  • Ability to work with students and faculty from diverse backgrounds
  • University-level teaching experience is preferred
  • Leadership and supervisory experience in academia preferred
