Ocean’s Bryant U. student Emily Grossman is building a school-minded fashion business

OCEAN TOWNSHIP — Meet Emily Grossman, 23, a double major in Marketing and Leadership and Project Management from Bryant University in Ocean Township. Coming from a family of business owners, Grossman knew she wanted to make her own and created Bryant Customz, a custom fashion company that promotes the spirit of the Bryant school.

“I never imagined myself as a CEO and owner of a limited company when I was 20,” says Emily. “I can honestly say that I will never truly be able to express the immense gratitude I feel for every customer who has purchased from me.”

Classes like Global Foundations of Business, taught by management lecturer Adam Rubin, help Emily hone her business management skills.

“The course was an introduction to what it’s like to work on a huge project with a business plan and it helped me understand the many parts needed to produce a product,” she said. “I made lifelong friends through the course and developed amazing presentation and collaboration skills through the group work we did. Professor Rubin is still a very helpful mentor to me to this day. , which has been an incredible asset as I work to grow my business.”

Emily’s affection for her university is reflected throughout her company’s product line. Picking Bryant was an easy decision, she said. “From the first time you set foot on campus, it’s obvious that Bryant creates a welcoming community through campus organizations and incredible opportunities, not to mention the lasting friendships we form, which add up to incredible possibilities. networking.”

Having found her way, she encourages other students to find theirs. In February, Emily will be a speaker at TEDxBryantU, a student-led initiative that is independently organized but licensed by the TED media platform, where she will share her insights and discuss her business philosophy.

Emily’s advice for her fellow bulldogs is, “Go for it! You’ll never know all the possibilities for success until you try. Bryant has plenty of outlets for creativity and finding amazing mentors.”
