Local fashion company ‘RedThread’ gives women confidence

RENO, Nevada (KOLO) – A local fashion company makes basic clothing specially designed for you. ‘Red string’ was born five years ago when owner and founder Meghan Litchfield realized that the traditional size didn’t make sense. Women’s bodies fluctuate after having children and the demands of life, Litchfield knew there was an opportunity to help women feel good about themselves.

‘Red string’ is a zero waste sewing workshop that started in a garage and now operates in a sewing workshop in Verdi. Their focus is on timeless pieces for any body type. All wardrobe essentials are custom made in the USA from just two photos. The fashion company has patented technology where the shopper takes two photos of themselves and specific measurements are generated.

Meghan Litchfield explained why the creation of this company was so important,

“We’re all into really unique shapes and we’ve all really compromised with this sizing system, you know we’ve been like I’d fit them too short or the waistband would be too loose, we sort of just declined. What if we could do it differently? What if we could help women put on pants and feel like a million bucks?” Litchfield said.

The fashion company has a lifetime warranty, so if your body changes or your fit misses the mark, alterations and remakes are free for life.
