Hampshire fashion company nominated for business award


A Hampshire-based FASHION company has been shortlisted for a prestigious business award.

Hey Lola, run by sisters Anna Bennett and Rebecca Condie, has been nominated for the Women Led Business Award at the British Business Awards.

The business has doubled in size every year since its inception, despite the Covid-19 pandemic and an arduous and heartbreaking cancer journey for Rebecca, who was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer amid the pandemic. .

The BBA recognized the sisters’ incredible achievements in the face of adversity and, after receiving more than 450 nominations nationally, selected Hey Lola among nine peers for the Women Led Business Award.

Speaking of their appointment, Anna, who acts as a director and co-founder of the company, said, “We are incredibly proud of what we have built at Hey Lola.

“We wanted to bring colorful and bold fashion to all British women, whatever their size, and that’s exactly what we have done and continue to do.

“It was this carefree, fun and colorful outlook that got us through the toughest times and we came out of it not just fighting but winning.

“Just being nominated was fantastic and being shortlisted among 10 of the other 450 worthy companies is wonderful.”

Hey Lola has even managed to attract celebrity fans, with the company’s designs having been worn by Lorraine Kelly, Kate Garraway, Josie Gibson and many more.

Several Hey Lola ranges also raise money for charity, with the “Chin Up” range raising thousands of pounds for cancer research, inspired by Rebecca’s fight.

The British Business Awards celebrate the innovative and outstanding achievements of UK small and medium-sized businesses across all sectors.

Sponsors and partners of the awards include the Department for International Trade, London Chamber of Commerce, The Guardian, Salesforce and many more.

Meanwhile, previous winners have included companies such as Lloyds Banking Group, Hiscox Xero, DocuSign and a host of other household names.

The awards ceremony will take place in London on October 13 at the Kings Place concert venue and will also include a welcome cocktail and post-show reception.
